Reading about Beast of Gévaudan terrorizing France reminds me of the dragon that terrorized Tarasque (who's death is still celebrated today).

What fascinates me is that it looks very similar to an Ankylosaur. Did 1400s France have a live dinosaur? Or did they get spooked after finding the skeleton of one and let their imaginations run wild?
